General Requirements for Graduation

The requirements for the completion of a Master of Science program shall be:

• Attainment of designated credit hours for each program.
• Successful completion of required courses as outlined in each program. Each postgraduate program has a fixed curriculum and graduation is dependent on passing all courses in the curriculum.
• Successful achievement and demonstration within all competencies and proficiencies in the       discipline. Failure to do so in any course will result in the student failing to earn his/her academic degree/certificate.
• Writing and defending a research thesis.
• Must have cumulative grade point average: CGPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Attended and participated in all lectures and clinics (minimum of 80%)
• Presented a minimum of 5 log diaries of cases which they have been primarily responsible for the treatment.
• One (1) should demonstrate an advanced aspect of Oral Surgery as part of their competency appraisal in the clinical practice of implant dentistry.
• Produced and defended a final dissertation
The minimum program completion time is three years and maximum allowed completion time is five years.

Residents must successfully complete all required courses as outlined in each program-specific manual and must successfully achieve all clinical competencies and proficiencies. Failure to do so in any course will result in the student’s failing to earn his/her academic degree/certificate. Each program has a fixed number of courses and graduation is dependent on receiving an acceptable grade in all courses in the program, demonstrating clinical proficiency in the discipline, completing a research project, and writing and defending a thesis. nd maximum period of enrollment for the completion of a qualification is no longer than 5 years.
